The Switzerland of Cigar Boards

Posted by on October 28, 2008

“Where other publications leave you for the jet-set, fashion-plate, sort of Beau Brummel, we say to you, Everyman Smoker, welcome, we’re making a place for you, too.”- TommyBB, CW Editor-in-Chief

Second only to the snobbery that is too-often found in circles of wine enthusiasts is the outright belligerently arrogant elitism of many well known cigar related message boards. In militant defiance to the zen-like equanimity of the smoke what you like, like what you smoke principle; the infamous “e-thugs” of online cigar discourse make habit of systematically humiliating and alienating burgeoning and curious cigar enthusiasts. Perhaps even more insidious, is the nearly silent annexation and gentrification of online cigar communities that is taking place as you read this very word.

There is, however, one venue that time-and-again has gone above and beyond the call of duty for news, information and a welcoming, brotherly atmosphere. Cigar Weekly is in every way a beacon of light in the ever darkening world of cigar boards. As the future of online cigar communities and the cigar lifestyle itself becomes more and more uncertain; CW throws out the welcome mat. The honesty and dedication to quality that has made CW undeniably the best place on the net for brothers of the leaf to come together is clearly presented in their Feature Article. Check it out and see why I’m proud to call myself an active CW member. See you on the boards.
